What's in our name?  From Howland Trumbull Recycling Center to Clover:

Who we were and who we are now!

With a documented history since 1972, this recycling center has had a few names but has been owned and operated by Robert Smith since 1987. By all of our research, we are the OLDEST RECYCLING CENTER IN THE NATION!  We are the ONLY privately owned Non-Profit Recycling Centers in the Nation! We are the MOST VERSATILE recycling center in the Nation.  Pretty amazing that it's in Warren, Ohio isn't it?  It's a hidden gem that we are trying to unhide and we'll start with our history!

The recycling center made Robert Smith "Bob" a businessman, but Bob made "The Center" a place of community appreciation and gathering. Friendly faces of the owner, his employees, his volunteers and the 4 legged helpers made the Howland Trumbull Recycling Center a place people looked forward to going to every week. Rain, sleet, snow, hail or heat, The Center was always open on "every day with a T in it"!

After over 30 years of making The Center a well-known entity in the community, the time has come for Bob to retire. In order to keep the business in the family and to begin the legacy of a second generation family owned business, his oldest daughter Jenny, a Veteran of the US Army, has decided to take the reins. BUT DON'T WORRY, Bob and his special lady Linda will continue to make appearances with their community loved and trusty 4 legged sidekicks Jack and Mutsy.

So although the name has changed to Clover Recycling, the friendly family atmosphere where we appreciate every customer, have a safe and clean environment, and a welcoming smile to greet you, will continue. Clover Recycling will be an official Nonprofit 501(c)3 Corporation as it moves forward. It will also be registered as a Woman Owned, Service Disabled Veteran Owned Total Small Business with the Small Business Association.

Since we are Nonprofit, we are always looking for volunteers, cash donations and of course grants.  We provide tours for groups (virtual through Facebook Live or in person!) and can provide one on one instruction on how we need recyclables sorted and prepared.  We now have demonstration models of the products that are made by local companies from the material we get from you, process and sell.  Come check out our HDPE chairs!  Soon (expected in May 2021) we will have a machine available for you to bring in your own glass bottles to crush and tumble them to make decorative sand and glass pieces to immediately take home with you.

Don't forget:  We can offer you a donation receipt for your donations.  Please ask us for one!

Although the recyclables that we have taken in over the years have changed, our commitment to providing a necessary service to Trumbull and surrounding counties remains unchanged. This is our home. Please come visit us!
